Dear PNMs,

 

Hi! My name is Nicole Jimenez and I served as the VP of Membership Recruitment ('25-'26)! Congratulations and welcome to the next chapter of your life! Three years ago, I was in your shoes, traveling over 3,000 miles from home. Whether you're moving from across the country or just down the road, college is a big transition that connects us all. It is completely normal to feel a bundle of excitement and nerves all at once!

Even though I didn't know anyone at Davis at first, primary recruitment quickly introduced me to so many amazing people — many of which became my closest friends. I remember the first time I visited Alpha Phi, and how genuine and welcoming the entire chapter was. In that moment, I felt like I had finally found my home at Davis and a community of strong, supportive people to surround myself with. Over the past three years, they've been by my side through every high, every low, and all the moments in between.

 

Everyone in the Panhellenic community has been in your shoes before and understands the butterflies recruitment can bring! Rest assured, we are all here for you and cannot wait to help you find your very own chapter (and home!) at Davis. 

 

My biggest piece of advice is to keep an open mindset. Welcome the new faces you'll meet along the way, and most importantly, HAVE FUN! If you're anything like me and are unsure if Greek life is right for you, I encourage you to go through primary recruitment. Stepping out of my comfort zone was one of the best decisions I ever made, and I have never regretted it for a second!

 

College is a time to discover who you are and the community you want to surround yourself with — you never know when you might meet your future best friends, future big, roomates, or your biggest supporters.
